For those of you not be familiar with our area, this is where the famous Klondike Gold Rush took place in 1896, attracting tens of thousands of stampeders who arrived here with the hope of striking it rich. This is also the traditional territory of Tr&#8217;ondëk Hwëch&#8217;in First Nation. The indigenous people of this region have a rich history and heritage they share with visitors from all over. Dawson is located at the confluence of the Yukon and Klondike Rivers, where Tr&#8217;ondëk Hwëch&#8217;in traditionally fished salmon. Today, Dawson continues to be an energetic and forward looking community attracting new residents and visitors from all over the globe; making us the most cosmopolitan town of its size anywhere.
